Your Ceremony and Reception In One Place

Home » Helpful Advice » Your Ceremony and Reception In One Place

Some brides have a ceremony venue and a separate reception venue.  It’s way easier to have one venue in one location that can host both your ceremony and your reception.

This is becoming more and more common, especially in our area, Eastern North Carolina.  Unless you’re having a church wedding and want to have your reception somewhere with more personality than the church rec hall or some other specific reason, this is the way to go.

Why should you get an all-in-one venue?  Here are five reasons:

Costs Less – Why pay for two separate venues when you could just pay for one that offers the ability to host both halves of your wedding day?

Easier to Coordinate – You’ll already be coordinating with a long list of vendors that include your DJ, florist, caterer, etc. leading up to your wedding.  Having one venue instead of two means one fewer person to coordinate with.

Less Wasted Time – You’d be amazed how much time you spend doing random stuff on wedding day.  10 minutes to get your shoes on?  That’ll happen.  15 minutes trying to find the best man?  Yup.  Now consider adding an extra half hour of drive time from Point A to Point B.

Nobody Gets Lost – The older the guest, the more likely they are to get lost.  “OK grandma, take a left at the military base…  What do you mean you’re at Fort Bragg!?!?  You’re supposed to be at Lejeune!”  Even with written directions and a GPS-able address, you’ll still lose people.

Rain Backup – Since most reception venues are inside, or at least covered, you automatically have a rain backup for an outside wedding if you’re in the same location.  It isn’t a perfect situation since the room will need to be changed over from a ceremony setup to one for a reception, but rain always causes problems.  At least your problem won’t be that you’re soaking wet.

There are reasons to have two separate venues like the aforementioned church quandary. You could also plan to have a beach ceremony and a covered, weather-controlled reception.

There are plenty of reasons to have separate ceremony and reception venues, but whether those reasons make you life easier is something totally different.  This will make things easier.
