Dan and Melissa had wet wedding vows and dry wedding vows at their Greenville ceremony.
Melissa says, “They always say, ‘Rain is a good thing.’ We were soaked with love! It rained some during the wedding ceremony, but I got to kiss the man I love in the rain- pretty romantic if you ask me. We finished the ceremony but some of the guests missed our vows because of the rain. We wanted to celebrate our union with everyone that attended the wedding. Therefore, we did the entire ceremony over inside so everyone could witness. We got married twice!!”
It wasn’t just the couple’s encore vows that made the wedding stand out. “We were very interested in personalizing our wedding,” Melissa says. “As you entered the ceremony a hand painted custom sign welcomed our guests, which displayed our names and wedding date. We had a personalized monogram in gold on the dance floor but our favorite was the favors to our guest. Each guest received a miniature Heinz ketchup bottle playing off our new married name.”
Melissa says that the best piece of advice she received was “if you’re a year out from your wedding date, still start planning ASAP. You need to look at a few venues until you find ‘the one.’ Then you need to choose a photographer and DJ or band. The best venues and vendors book up quickly.”
