Forgoing a large wedding doesn’t mean that you also have to forgo good wedding pictures. Mark and Casey did without all of the hoopla but still got the quality photos that were important to them.
The couple traveled south to New Bern for their mini-honeymoon/photo shoot. Casey says, “Mark and I like to camp and we wanted to go somewhere we hadn’t been before. While looking at campsites, I noticed that the New Bern campground had a beautiful pier that I thought would be perfect for our photos.” She continues, “We live just outside of Richmond, Virginia. While looking at places to go, I fell (virtually) in love with New Bern. I also wanted to make sure there was a photographer in that area that would be willing to shoot our unique situation. Bob (from Open Aperture Photography (ECB/Web)) made me feel comfortable with our first phone call and really sealed the deal on us going to New Bern.”
The couple enjoyed their shoot and didn’t miss the wedding stress. Casey says, “Our shoot was very relaxed and we both felt very comfortable with Bob and Amanda. While they were setting up equipment to take some shots out on the pier, Mark and I were just hugging each other and taking it all in. It’s hard to explain, but it was just extremely tranquil.”
As for their wedding itself, Casey says it was up for debate for a while. “We went back and forth a lot about whether we wanted to go through with a big wedding,” she says. “We eventually came to the decision to do something very small and intimate at home with our immediate family. I am so thankful we made that decision. Our wedding day was perfect in every way.”
