Michael and Katie’s relationship started in high school history class, continued as they went to different colleges, and culminated with their wedding in Swansboro.
Michael, a physician assistant in New Bern, and Katie, a teacher in Swansboro, moved to Eastern North Carolina two years ago. They fell in love with one specific local feature which made their venue choice an obvious one. Katie says, “We chose the White Oak River Bistro for many reasons. We love the White Oak River- we kayak there a lot and the water is a beautiful background for a wedding. Both the inside and the outside of the restaurant are beautiful and exactly what we were looking for.”
They chose a special flower girl for their wedding. Katie says, “Our dog is named Iris- she is a mixed hound breed. We included her because she is a big part of our family and we wanted her with us on our wedding day.”
She has some advice to pass along that we hear all the time. She says, “To enjoy the process of planning the wedding because although it can be stressful at times- it should be a happy/exciting time. Don’t let the stress take over the fun.”
