Rob and Meg shot their engagement session in downtown Wilmington, NC. While they were there, they managed to capture so much of what makes Wilmington a beautiful, fun city.
They chose their location, Meg says, because “we spend a lot of time downtown with our closest friends because there is so much to do down there…restaurants, bars and breweries, and the beautiful Riverwalk.” Shoot locations included the Riverwalk, a bridge that was often featured on the TV show One Tree Hill, and their favorite bar, The Husk.
Since it isn’t a real engagement session without including your furry children, Rob and Meg did just that. They incorporated their dogs Kona, a Siberian Husky, and Sadie, a Shepherd mix, in parts of the shoot. Meg says, “They have been with us for the majority of our relationship and are like our children. It was important to both of us that they be included in a few pictures.”
They received some good advice heading into the shoot. “We were told to try to relax so the pictures show our true selves, and Amy (of Amy Allen Photography) made that easy!” says Meg. “A friend suggested to dress the way we normally dress, rather than get all dolled up and I am so glad we took that advice.”

This next image is Meg’s favorite. She says, “My favorite photo of us is the one of us walking on the bridge, hand in hand, looking at each other. Our photographer was loving the lighting and making us laugh with her silly comments. I love a lot of the ones of us walking hand in hand on the bridge because we both look so happy, the lighting was perfect, and I loved the steel bridge backdrop.”
