East Carolina Bride doesn’t run styled shoots. Never. Not once in our history. That changed when this styled bridal portrait hit our inbox.
Sarah and her two year old daughter, Marceline, sat for an amazing princess tea party themed styled bridal portrait that’s so adorable it needs to be seen. The idea came from Sarah’s mother, Tammy, a professional photographer.
Marceline has an unusual medical condition, one that we’ll let Sarah to you about. She says, “She has the third and most serious type of Spina Bifida called Myelomeningocele. It’s a defect of the backbone and spinal cord. Basically, her spinal cord and spinal canal did not close normally before birth. She had over 15 surgeries in her first year of life but she still manages to be the happiest baby I know. She’s bound to a wheelchair but somehow manages to get into everything. Overlooking all of that, she’s a pretty normal kid in every other aspect and the love of my life.”
Marceline behaved exceptionally well considering the conditions of their early March shoot. Sarah says, “It was surprising how well behaved she was considering how freezing cold it was outside when we were taking these pictures. She was shivering most of the time yet she was able to stay still and smile.”
