Debating whether to hire a wedding planner? Ashley did for her destination wedding on Bald Head Island and she says it was the single best decision that she made. (We assume she means the best one besides choosing Shawn.)
She is passing that advice along to you. She says, “Get as much help as you can and don’t stress over the little details. I would highly recommend a wedding planner for the day of the wedding if budget allows.”
Why is Ashley so adamant about this? Her planner saved the wedding after her venue fell through. She says, “Me and Shay (the wedding planner) had originally booked another venue on the same island, however, the contract didn’t go though because the venue was under construction. I guess it’s by fate and also the hard work of the most awesome planner that we found Big Fish last minute and they had an opening for the wedding date!”
As for the rest of the wedding, Shawn travelled in from New York and Ashley travelled in from Baltimore, making this an exciting destination for both of them. Ashley says, “We chose North Carolina because my side of the family lives there and I’ve always wanted a wedding on an island with the beach as the beautiful backdrop. Bald Head Island is picture perfect I could not imagine getting married anywhere else.”
They haven’t even reached the end of their wedding adventure yet. They’ll be having a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony in China, where much of Shawn’s family is located, and then they’re going on a European cruise for their honeymoon.
